The FCC has denied SOUTHERN ADVENTIST UNIVERSITY's Petition for Reconsideration of an $8,000 fine for public file violations at noncommercial Classical WSMC-F/COLLEGEDALE-CHATTANOOGA, TN. The university did not dispute that its file was missing at least 22 issues/programs lists, but had asserted that the Commission's fine was not imposed within the time limits imposed by the rules. The Commission responded that the date the fine notification is effective is upon its release and not its adoption.
In addition, the FCC proposed a $4,000 fine against JHT VENTURES, INC. for operating its Spanish-language daytimer KULF-A (RADIO LUZ)/BELLVILLE, TX past sunset without permission. The Commission says that the station remained on the air until the conclusion of the show bring aired.
