The news of RUSH LIMBAUGH "just discovering" the benefits of social platforms by announcing he was now Tweeting @rushlimbaugh and @limbaugh was an interesting "aha moment" for everyday people who are using social platforms, and finding their voices being elevated without a microphone (NET NEWS 3/16).
TODAY (3/21) is TWITTER's 6th BIRTHDAY, and JACOBS MEDIA Dir./Digital And Social Strategies and MERGE author LORI LEWIS celebrates by writing in this week's MERGE about RUSH's "new voice": "It's good to see that old dogs can learn new tricks ... but the real issue is a lack of education in this space.
"When people (even big radio brands) personally see no value with social and/or digital -- they resist participating professionally.
"What they are essentially doing is projecting their own uninformed opinions on the use of these platforms and unknowingly chipping away at their brands' opportunities to be seen as present, open and connected to a whole new league of listeners we serve today."
LORI is dedicated to helping radio grow in the digital and social space and this week’s MERGE sheds light on how to seek out Change Agents so you're not the next brand with such an untimely "announcement."
