New 'Habit Forming Book' Gives Nod To Industry Notables

There is a new book out, "The Power Of Habit: Why We Do What We Do In Life And Business" penned by NY TIMES reporter CHARLES DUHIGG, and it focuses on why we do what we do, and how persistence and familiarity makes for success.
DUHIGG pays homage to ISLAND DEF JAM MUSIC GROUP President/COO STEVE BARTELS when he was SVP/Promotion at ARISTA, and taking OUTKAST's "Hey Ya" out to radio in 2003 -- and how with pure persistence and passion, he got radio to play this groundbreaking, yet polarizing, hit single.
And also noted in the book is AIRPLAY INTEL President RICH MEYER (DEITEMEYER) and his wife NANCY DEITEMEYER who is EVP/Operations at MEDIABASE. The book recounts the early days, back in 1985, when RICH and NANCY founded, branded and expanded MEDIABASE into what it is today, and how RICH analyzed that "sticky" hit songs have a "familiar" feel and sound to them -- engrained by habit.
RICH's current passion, AIRPLAY INTEL is taking a similar success path, too!
