MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO Triple A KCMP (89.3 THE CURRENT)/MINNEAPLIIS-ST. PAUL and CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, NORTHRIDGE Triple A KCSN/LOS ANGELES will swap songs from hometown artists in "The Local Music Exchange" -- THE CURRENT’s ongoing project to share emerging music from different scenes around the country.
KCSN’s MARK SHOVEL and THE CURRENT’s MARK WHEAT will unveil new music and commentary -- on air and online -- throughout the week of APRIL 2nd-6th.
"We're privileged to be given the opportunity to be an advocate for local music from LOS ANGELES and there is certainly an abundance of talent emerging from L. A.," said SHOVEL. "It is a fantastic initiative that THE CURRENT is undertaking to share local music between cities. We know that MINNEAPOLIS has a strong and vital music scene, which is evident in the great music that continues to be created and the very supportive base of music there."
"LOS ANGELES is going to love listening to these bands from MINNEAPOLIS," said WHEAT. "POLICA were a big hit during SXSW this year, for instance, and the other groups are equally poised for big things this year. I'm looking forward to hearing the bands MR. SHOVEL is going to share from CALIFORNIA."
