NSAI And CMT Announce Song Contest Winners

NSAI and CMT have announced that "Whiskey Sunrise," written by DELAWARE native ANDY TIMMONS, has been awarded the NSAI Grand Prize in the 12th Annual NSAI SONG CONTEST presented by CMT. After beating out upwards of 2,000 total entries to claim the contest's top prize, ANDY wins a mentoring session with Country great CHARLIE DANIELS, meetings with major NASHVILLE publishers, a GIBSON acoustic guitar and many more prizes.
As part of the package, ANDY also will be performed the song at this year's TIN PAN SOUTH SONGWRITERS FESTIVAL in NASHVILLE. His live performance of "Whiskey Sunrise" will kicked off the late show at the HARD ROCK CAFE on THURSDAY (3/29).
The CMT “Listeners' Choice Award” in this year's contest went to "Angie's List", composed by DERRICK HAMPTON of DUBLIN, GA and DAVID BANNING of COLLEYVILLE, TX. Over 90,000 votes were cast and 43% chose "Angie's List" over the other 9 finalists.
This year marked the first time the NSAI SONG CONTEST presented by CMT has included a “Lyric” category, and its inaugural winner is "Old Friends and CALIFORNIA Wine" written by JEEP ROSENBERG of NEW YORK, NY.
