Canada's Vista Radio Buys Haliburton Broadcasting

Canadian radio group VISTA RADIO is buying ONTARIO radio station owner HALIBURTON BROADCASTING LTD. for an undisclosed price. At the same time, WESTERKIRK CAPITAL is buying all shares of VISTA that are not owned by founding partners PAUL MANN, MARGOT MICALLEF, BRYAN EDWARDS, BARB FAIRCLOUGH, and JASON MANN, and VISTA is also buying Classic Hits CKAY (91.7 THE COAST)/SECHELT, BC from WESTWAVE BROADCASTING, also for an undisclosed price. VISTA owns 38 stations in BRITISH COLUMBIA, ALBERTA, and NORTHWEST TERRITORY; HALIBURTON owns 24 stations in ONTARIO.
In addition, VISTA President TERRY COLES will retire at the end of 2012 and will become a consultant with the company, and CEO MARGOT MICALLEF will take over COLES' President duties; BRYAN EDWARDS is moving to SVP of Business Development. VISTA KELOWNA, BC cluster GM/GSM ROSS HOWSE has been named Director Western Operations, while PRINCE GEORGE, BC cluster GM and Director of Systems GARY RUSSELL will become Director of Integration and Operations, VISTA EAST. Co-Founder PAUL MANN adds duties as SVP of Sales and Training and Development, and CARIBOO, BC GM/GSM TRACEY GARD is becoming Director VISTA Sales, WEST, based in COURTENAY, BC. Former TELEMEDIA and CORUS executive CHRISTOPHE LECOMTE has been named SVP/CFO, based in TORONTO. Finally, ANNA CARTER has been named Executive Assistant to the Senior Management Team and HR Administrator, based in COURTENAY.
