SAG-AFTRA Considers Work Ban For Music Video Dancers

The newly merged TV and radio performer union, SAG-AFTRA, is considering sending a "do not work" order to its members working on music videos as dancers, VARIETY reports. The issue will come up to a vote at the national board's first meeting on MAY 19th-20th in LOS ANGELES.
"Once implemented, SAG-AFTRA members may not accept employment as performers in any music video not produced under a SAG-AFTRA contract," the performers said. "A Do Not Work order for music videos is a result of the major record labels refusing to agree to a contract that meets the critical needs of music video performers."
