Talk host KEVIN MCCULLOUGH, actor and talk host STEPHEN BALDWIN, and TV's "SECRET MILLIONAIRE" and talk radio host DANI JOHNSON are launching a campaign to raise money aimed at rescuing 2012 orphans in the year 2012. BALDWIN and MCCULLOUGH's XTREMEDIA is kicking off "2012 IN 2012" with a plea for donations of 25 cents a day for a year to feed orphans in Third World nations through the FOOD FOR ORPHANS and KING'S RANSOM FOUNDATION charities.
"When I toured the places these children sleep and live in, I couldn't help but be moved to do something about it. My whole family saw with our own eyes children who were dying or would die soon, simply because they had no food," said BALDWIN. "It is imperative to me, my media company, my family, my business partners, and every one I come into contact with to let them know how vital $.25 can be. It can literally feed a meal to a child who literally will die without it."
"I've stared into the eyes of Orphans in EASTERN EUROPE, WEST AFRICA and CENTRAL AMERICA, and though the geography is different the one thing that never changes is how helpless they are to be able to feed themselves," said MCCULLOUGH. "Our partners are delivering life healing food for the rate of feeding an orphan for an entire year, for just $92 -- this is how simple it is to save a life? How can we get more people involved? How can we rescue more children? These questions haunt me each night...".
"One of the things my clients and listeners get from me all the time is the absolute necessity that it is to put purpose to our money," added JOHNSON. "It is of absolute urgency that we love these kids as best we can. And every single day we will blow cash on the most idiotic things in this world, why can't we take even ten percent of that and feed children who will die unless we do? Two families have already committed to me that they will raise enough to feed 100 orphans each. I honor them and the children they will feed. But there is much, much, more to do."
MCCULLOUGH said that his company is also open to engage other media partners for the effort. "If you are a television, radio, or new media personality who has a passion to help hungry kids, we would love for you to join us in this amazing quest," said MCCULLOUGH. "We will link arm in arm with anyone and everyone who is moved to do this, to be part of it, and to see orphans fed."
