Band Tweaks

The 12th annual NON-COMMVENTION returns to PHILADELPHIA MAY 17th-19th, 2012.  All the meetings and music will be held at the WXPN building, which also houses the WORLD CAFE LIVE venue. A complete schedule of the 2012 meeting is now ready to review

In a late schedule tweak, PAUL WELLER, originally scheduled to play WEDNESDAY NIGHT, MAY 16th, has canceled.   Grabbing that slot will be GRACE POTTER AND THE NOCTURNALS.

Further, DR. JOHN will stop by for a World Cafe interview with DAVID DYE on THURSDAY AFTERNOON MAY 17th.  JOHN MAYER and JOE JACKSAON will also talk with DYE.  And this year’s NON-COMMversation will be with blogger BOB LEFSETZ.

Other acts include WILLIE NELSON, NORAH JONES, BRANDI CARLILE, BETH ORTON, CITIZEN COPE, JOSEPH ARTHUR, EISLEY'S JONATHAN WILSON, POLICA, REBECCA FERGUSON, NADA SURF, RUFUS WAINWRIGHT, DIEGO GARCIA, DRY THE RIVER, JC BROOKS AND THE UPTOWN SOUND, LEE FIELDS, FATHER JOHN MISTY, JD MCPHERSON, SONS OF FATHERS, ZEUS, THE WALKMEN (just added) and THE WAR ON DRUGS.

The granddaddy of them all, The FMQB TRIPLE A CONFERENCE celebrates 20 years in 2012.   The event will again be held in BOULDER, CO at the ST. JULIEN HOTEL & SPA AUGUST 8th-11th, 2012.   BONNIE RAITT has already been announced as the opening keynote Q&A for WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, AUGUST 8th.

Further, FUN., THE EMPTY POCKETS, VAN GHOST, CITIZEN COPE. MAX GOMEZ, SONS OF FATHERS, STEVE POLTZ and THE BREW have been added to the first round of performers announced: ALABAMA SHAKES, DRY THE RIVER, GIVERS, GOOD OLD WAR, HEARTLESS BASTARDS, IMAGINE DRAGONS, MICHAEL KIWANUKA, MILOW, THE DUNWELLS, TRAMPLED BY TURTLES and ZACK HECKENDORF.
