UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA Triple A WXPN/PHILADELPHIA is set for its eighth annual XPONENTIAL MUSIC FESTIVAL presented by SUBARU. More than 15,000 music lovers are expected to go to CAMDEN COUNTY’S WIGGINS PARK FRIDAY, JULY 20th through SUNDAY, JULY 22nd.
This year, that station has partnered with LIVE NATION to extend the festival with a SATURDAY night performance by WILCO, THE AVETT BROTHERS, and DR. DOG at the SUSQUEHANNA BANK CENTER. The three-day XPONENTIAL MUSIC FESTIVAL pass will get attendees a lawn seat at this special concert.
"Our creative partnership with SUSQUEHANNA BANK CENTER will allow us to keep festival ticket prices affordable and ultimately open up more opportunities for our listeners to hear great live music," said WXPN GM ROGER LAMAY.
Meanwhile, Festival goers will enjoy performances from more than 30 other new and established artists on three stages including THE HOLD STEADY, KATHLEEN EDWARDS, DIEGO GARCIA, WAR ON DRUGS, JOHN WESLEY HARDING’S CABINET OF WONDERS, PATTERSON HOOD, MIKE DOUGHTY, OZOMATLI, JD SOUTHER, THE LUMINEERS, GOOD OLD WAR, JC BROOKS & THE UPTOWN SOUND, JD MCPHERSON and many ore.
The venue was selected by WXPN for its spectacular waterfront views, natural amphitheater for great sound, easy access to public transportation, lush open green spaces and an array of local attractions, such as ADVENTURE AQUARIUM and the CAMDEN CHILDREN'S GARDEN, which serves as the KIDS CORNER AREA. WXPN will again offer a variety of family-friendly activities throughout the festival.
