Border Media Sells Six Rio Grande Valley Stations

BORDER MEDIA BUSINESS TRUST, overseen by LARRY PATRICK, is selling six stations in the RIO GRANDE VALLEY market of south TEXAS to MBM TEXAS VALLEY LLC, including Regional Mexican KESO and Tejano KZSP/SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Tejano KBUC/RAYMONDVILLE, Adult Hits KJAV (104.9 JACK FM)/ALAMO, Talk KURV-A/EDINBURG, and Sports KVJY-A (FOX SPORTS RADIO)/PHARR, for $2.5 million plus an LMA before closing. GREG GUY and JASON JAMES of PATRICK COMMUNICATIONS served as brokers for the deal.
In other filings with the FCC, CALVARY BAPTIST CHURCH OF LEXINGTON PARK, INC. has applied to the FCC for a Silent STA for WGWS/ST. MARY'S CITY, MD due to "lack of finances."
WITTENBERG COLLEGE has applied for a Silent STA for WUSO/SPRINGFIELD, OH due to water damage at the station.
And NORTH TEXAS RADIO GROUP, L.P. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for FM translator K265DW/MOUNT PLEASANT, TX due to technical problems and a move to a new site.
