Longtime CBS RADIO Sports KHTK-A (1140 THE FAN)/SACRAMENTO personality CARMICHAEL DAVE has exited the station.
DAVE, who has been PD DON GERONIMO's sidekick on the station's morning show and who until recently hosted a separate midday show as well, was off the air since MONDAY and tweeted TODAY, "As of today I am no longer a part of CBS RADIO. I'll expand later. To each and every person that has put up with my voice, I love you. I'm not trying to be vague, everything is going at 300mph. Yes I'm fine, no I'm not leaving for something better. KHTK is my home. I am thoroughly gutted. KHTK is all I've ever known. I am getting a lot of response that this was contract-related. I asked for nothing. I can't go into details, sorry. Just know that I love the station, and the people. Not much else I can say. I wish the boys the best."
DAVE received much notice for his campaigning to keep the SACRAMENTO KINGS from moving to ANAHEIM last year and for his role in the continuing battle to get a new arena built for the team. He started at KHTK as a caller (hence his air name, indicating his hometown of CARMICHAEL) and became a night host, then moved to become GERONIMO's midday producer/sidekick and accompanied GERONIMO as part of the crew when the show moved to mornings last year.
