Loretta Lynn Announces 'Coal Miner's Daughter' Broadway Plans With Zooey Deschanel

Country legend LORETTA LYNN had announced plans for a BROADWAY musical adaption of her life story “Coal Miner’s Daughter.” LYNN made the announcement on GRAND OLE OPRY at the RYMAN AUDITORIUM in downtown NASHVILLE last night (4/10). She also brought out the production’s future lead, actress/musician ZOOEY DESCHANEL, to perform “Coal Miner’s Daughter” with her onstage.
“This is a great honor for me,” ZOOEY said. “This is my hero.”
THE TENNESSEAN reports that plans for a stage adaptation are still in the beginning stages, with no creative team attached or workshop dates announced. The producers will be FOX THEATRICALS and SCOTT SANDERS PRODUCTIONS.
