The FCC has proposed a $10,000 fine against COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY for public file violations at noncommercial Variety WKCR/NEW YORK.
The school admitted in its license renewal application that it was missing quarterly issues/programs lists before fourth quarter 2005 and noted that since the destruction of its antenna at the WORLD TRADE CENTER on 9/11, it has been operating with temporary facilities at reduced power, but the Commission was not moved to reduce the fine, noting that the deficiencies both pre- and post-dated 9/11 and that the licensee only disclosed the deficiency in its license renewal application and not earlier.
The Commission also dismissed GREAT GOD GOSPEL AND EDUCATIONAL STATION, INC.'s petition for reconsideration of its denial of a booster station at OCALA, FL for its low-power FM WITG-LP/OCALA.
