LARS LARSON is celebrating his 15th anniversary on the air TODAY at ALPHA BROADCASTING Talk KXL/PORTLAND. LARSON started with KXL in MARCH 1980, left in NOVEMBER 1983 to go into television, then returned to radio in 1984. He began filling in for BILL GALLAGHER on KXL in 1994 and officially launched his own show in 1997. The anniversary is being commemorated with a live broadcast and open house TODAY.
Dir. of Programming SCOTT MAHALICK said, "We're proud to have America's smartest Talk Show host call Portland his home."
LARSON added, "I have been shooting my mouth off on my talk show for fifteen years in this region... and the most gratifying thing is the folks who listen to the show have given me the latitude to throw some of my crazy ideas out and give them a try. I've tried to return the favor with things like putting naysayers who disagree with me first in line, and by celebrating First Amendment FRIDAY every week. At the same time, I've worked to develop a tolerance for the liberal true believers who populate OREGON and WASHINGTON... and I'm getting better at it every day, with your help. My audience teaches me something new every day... even the liberals. Thanks for 15 great years. Here's to the next 15."
