With MEMORIAL DAY upon us, JACOBS MEDIA Dir./Digital And Social Strategies LORI LEWIS revisits the U.S. ARMED FORCES Social Media Policy and shares highlights from the core tenets of the Military's social presence.
LEWIS says, "You would think with the dangers of social sharing and location based settings that the U.S. Military wouldn't even consider deploying a social strategy but they looked at it this way: If they can train soldiers to operate technical equipment and navigate the battlefield, they could also effectively train soldiers in the proper use and behavior in the social space.
The military strongly believes technology is not today's problem. Poor training and/or bad hires are -- but the platforms we have today to elevate messages are not.
MERGE is dedicated to helping radio grow in the digital and social space. Here is this week’s article -- "Loose Lips Sink Ships Military Lessons In Being A Social Brand."
