Former LYNYRD SKYNYRD Tour Manager RON ECKERMAN, who survived the 1977 plane crash that claimed the lives of six members of the band and crew, talked exclusively with radio affiliates of ENVISION RADIO NETWORKS GUEST SERVICES. ECKERMAN shared his personal account of the crash and the court cases following it with the CUMULUS Classic Rocker KQRS/MINNEAPOLIS KQ MORNING SHOW.
ECKERMAN explained it took him all this time to write his new book, TURN IT UP!: LOVE, LIFE, AND DEATH, SOUTHERN STYLE, because he was suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome, “I tell ya, I am very lucky to have survived [the crash]. Sometimes, I wonder if I survived at all, though.”
