CLASSICAL SOUTH FLORIDA INC. has completed the acquisition of the assets of radio station WAYJ/FT. MYERS, FL from WAY-FM MEDIA, Inc. for $4.35 million (NET NEWS, 2/15). The station will change its call letters to WNPS and will flip formats from Contemporary Christian to Classical.
"We’re tremendously excited to have the opportunity to bring classical music back to the SOUTHWEST FLORIDA airwaves," CSF Pres./GM DOUGLAS C. EVANS said. "CLASSICAL SOUTH FLORIDA was launched in SOUTHEAST FLORIDA in the fall of 2007, and its programming can be heard from the upper KEYS to the PALM BEACHES and TREASURE COAST, and now in SOUTHWEST FLORIDA from FORT MYERS to NAPLES and MARCO ISLAND."
