STARadio's six-station GREAT FALLS, MT cluster has acquired the local broadcast affiliation for UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA football, men's basketball and select women's basketball games for the next three years in a deal with rights holder LEARFIELD SPORTS. LEARFIELD also renewed STARadio's deal as affiliate in the GREAT FALLS market for MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY football, men's basketball and select women's basketball rights for the next three years as well.
GM JIM SENST said, "I started my radio career here in GREAT FALLS in the late 70's, and in all my years associated with GREAT FALLS radio broadcasting, never has any radio station carried all three sports and both universities. I'm especially thrilled about the opportunity to carry men's and women's basketball, and fans in central MONTANA now have a full slate of university sports."
Sports and News Director TROY MELLINGER added, "The UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA sports programs will be heard on our FOX SPORTS Station, 1400 AM and 98.3 FM (KXGF-A-K252EW). MONTANA STATE UNIVERSITY sports programs will be heard on (Talk) KINX 102.7 FM. In addition we will also continue our coverage of COLORADO ROCKIES baseball, DENVER BRONCOS football as well as local high school sports featuring GREAT FALLS HIGH BISON football, boys and girls basketball and softball".
"This is a tremendous milestone for this market, and we're pleased to roll out all the offerings and game action the GRIZ will bring to fans," said LEARFIELD SPORTS' GRIZZLY SPORTS PROPERTIES GM NICK GARNER.
