Among the winners of the NEW YORK STATE BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION's 46th annual Awards for Excellence in Broadcasting, given separately to stations in the NEW YORK CITY market, medium markets, and small markets at a MONDAY night ceremony at BOLTON LANDING, NY, CBS RADIO News WCBS-A and EMMIS Top 40 WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK each won three awards, while CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WGY-A-F/ALBANY, GALAXY Classic Rock WTKW-WTKV (TK 99/TK 105)/SYRACUSE, TOWNSQUARE MEDIA Talk WIBX-A/UTICA, WXXI PUBLIC BROADCASTING COUNCIL News-Talk WXXI-A/ROCHESTER, and CULVER COMMUNICATIONS Talk WLVL-A/LOCKPORT won two each.

Outstanding Station-Sponsored Event: CHOICE RADIO AC WATS-A/SAYRE, PA-WAVR/WAVERLY, NY.

The organization also honored ABC's BILL WEIR as Broadcaster of the Year, RACHAEL RAY as New Yorker of the Year, and the NEW YORK GIANTS as NEW YORK Sports Story of the Year.  Former ZENITH OPTIMEDIA Vice Chair PEGGY GREEN was given the CAROL M. REILLY Award.
