Cumulus/Colorado Springs Cluster Remains On Air Despite Ongoing Wildfires

CUMULUS MEDIA/COLORADO SPRINGS has been dealing with the ongoing wildfires in the area, and OM BOBBY IRWIN tells ALL ACCESS, "We have special permission to remain on site at our TIFFANY SQUARE studios from the city's Police Chief. We have just been told that our power will remain on -- for now."
"We have set up a stand-by location from which to broadcast, which is the production room at the BAHAKEL cluster on the other side of town," added IRWIN. "Our cluster stations are jumping to simulcasts with our News/TALK KVOR as needed. I'm very proud of the performance of the CUMULUS/C-SPRINGS staff."
A new fire has popped up less than a mile away -- we're hoping all in the area and the CUMULUS cluster remain safe.
The cluster got props from radio vet JIM CODA, who was recently cut loose at DIAL GLOBAL in the area. CODA wrote to ALL ACCESS, "I do not work there anymore, but people should know that the CUMULUS cluster here in COLORADO SPRINGS did an amazing job of covering the firestorm in last night. 740 KVOR, 1300 THE ANIMAL, MAGIC, THE PEAK, KAT COUNTRY and KKFM had JIM ARTHUR from KVOR simulcast on all the stations through the night and kept the city posted on what was happening as the fire raged out their back-door. Many of us in COLORADO SPRINGS are VERY grateful."
