TOM LEYKIS' online radio venture was featured in SUNDAY's LOS ANGELES TIMES, with a profile highlighting how the former CBS RADIO and WESTWOOD ONE talker is taking on radio conglomerates with his new live streaming show airing 3-6p (PT) live and reaching 401,180 listeners tuning in for at least 5 minutes in its first week.
"(Y)ou've got these companies that are so over-leveraged," LEYKIS told the paper's STEVE CARNEY, "they have turned the radio business into a bunch of scrap metal and homogenized formats." "It feels fabulous. I haven't worked this hard in 20 years," LEYKIS added.
The article also features commentary from ALL ACCESS VP/News-Talk-Sports Editor PERRY MICHAEL SIMON, who notes that LEYKIS' operation is "example of how creative talent is adapting to a new reality."
