FCC Nixes KWVE Appeal Of Antenna Change
July 10, 2012 at 10:42 AM (PT)
The FCC has denied CALVARY CHAPEL OF COSTA MESA's petition for reconsideration of the rejection of its proposed change of Contemporary Christian KWVE/SAN CLEMENTE, CA to a non-directional antenna.
The change would create overlap with the signal of OWENS Country KUZZ-F/BAKERSFIELD, and CALVARY asserted that use of LONGLEY-RICE maps showed no overlap, that mountains in between the stations were "impenetrable" and blocked interference, and that the directional antenna was to protect KWVE from KUZZ interference and not the other way around. The Commission said that the additional information submitted by CALVARY was not timely and therefore dismissed the application.
