No EAS Equipment At Texas Station, So FCC Proposes Fine

The FCC has proposed an $8,000 fine against BRAVO BROADCASTING CO. for EAS violations at KIRT-A/MISSION, TX. The station admitted that it had been without EAS equipment since AUGUST 2009 but had purchased new EAS equipment on MARCH 20, 2012.
In addition, the Commission granted a new noncommercial FM to the Board of Regents of NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY at MILAN, NM over a Petition to Deny and a Petition for Reconsideration by AVAILABLE MEDIA, INC., a mutually exclusive applicant which filed to build a new FM at TOHAJIILEE INDIAN RESERVATION, NM.
And the FCC sent out some more Notices of Unlicensed Operation to PHILIP BRITTON (BOULDER, CO); KATTY ABREU and SANTOS ABREU (NEWARK, NJ); 2101 CORTELYOU, LTD., STEVE TIAMFOOK, HENDERSON ELCOCK, and LINDOFF LINDSAY (BROOKLYN); ALMA REALTY LTD. (ASTORIA, QUEENS); and JOSEPH MARCELLUS (HEMPSTEAD, LONG ISLAND).
