According to GALLUP, American's confidence in television news is at an all-time low. And because their findings were conducted weeks before the CNN and FOX NEWS blunder over the constitutionality of the U.S. Health Care Law, GALLUP warns confidence could plummet further.
JACOBS MEDIA Dir./Digital And Social Strategies and MERGE author LORI LEWIS writes, "The mentality of 'being first' (and compromising integrity) to break news is dated. Consumers 'social airwaves' are fed today by more of their personal connections than just news outlets. While TV News struggles with this concept, Radio's opportunity here to stand out is all in the approach with the headline.
"Tell a story with your headline, something that your fans 'News Feeds' haven't already told them."
LEWIS is dedicated to assisting radio in the digital and social space. Take a deep dive into this week’s MERGE, "It Sounds Like Common Sense But It's Not Common Practice."
