WIGX Makes The Flip To Rock As '94.3 The Shark'

Goodbye '90s, Hello Rock

Rumors became reality, as CONNOISSEUR MEDIA '90s-based WIGX (94X)/LONG ISLAND, NY flips to Rock as 94.3 THE SHARK, playing "everything that rocks."

The station is one of four stations BARNSTABLE BROADCASTING recently sold to CONNOISSEUR MEDIA for $23 million. The cluster includes AC WKJY, Classic Hits WBZO, '90s Hits WIGX and Adult Standards WHLI-A.

ALL ACCESS found a partially finished website early this morning at www.943theshark.com/site that pointed to the change that finally happened at noon. There's also a FACEBOOK page for the new direction.

The station kicked off its new sound with NIRVANA's "Smells Like Teen Spirit."
