Long Island's 94.3 The Shark Seeking PD For New Rock Station
Rock Programming Vet Keith Hastings Launches Station And New Consultancy

Veteran Rock programmer KEITH HASTINGS of the newly created HASTINGS MEDIA CONSULTING was brought in to oversee the launch of CONNOISSEUR MEDIA's new Rock station on LONG ISLAND which flipped from '90s-based WIGX (94X) to WWSK (94.3 THE SHARK) last month (NET NEWS 9/14).
CONNOISSEUR closed on this cluster mid-2012 (including AC WKJY, Classic Hits WBZO, '90s Hits WIGX and Adult Standards WHLI-A) and invested heavily to conduct a format search on CENTRAL LONG ISLAND, enlisting COLEMAN INSIGHTS and JACOBS MEDIA in the process.
THE SHARK is currently jockless and interviewing PD candidates who can be in place this month. The launch is being supported by a strong marketing campaign. Check out the TV spot at www.943theshark.com.
According to HASTINGS, "94.3 THE SHARK is a mainstream Rock station built for guys in their 20s and 30s, based heavily on '90s and early 2000's rock." HASTINGS and CONNOISSEUR are searching for a PD who must have the rock attitude, knowledge and enthusiasm needed to build and lead a staff as well as strong knowledge of the PPM playbook, music management, a commitment to relentless promotional greatness, a dedication to strategic thinking, and a solid student of all things social media and digital.
