Stern Sirius Channel Launch: It's A Gas

HOWARD STERN's SIRIUS SATELLLITE RADIO channels are a dead air marathon right now, but the two channels will come alive, sort of, next THURSDAY (10/6), when STERN plans to air the live melodic sounds of gastro-intestinal distress featuring a full lineup of farters. STERN used the opening segments of FRIDAY's show to whip the idea into shape, only to be interrupted by WXRK (92.3 K-ROCK)/NEW YORK GM TOM CHIUSANO's objections that the show had become too much of an ad for SIRIUS.
STERN also announced that starting MONDAY (10/3), he will be airing segments called "HOWARD Packs his Bags," in which he runs through tapes of material that he will bring with him to SIRIUS and material he will be leaving behind and playing on the air for the last time.
