MEDIA LATINO COMMUNICATIONS will launch CALIENTE RADIO NETWORK, which features the Tropical Format and targets Hispanic Adults 18-34. The network features hits in Salsa, Reggaeton, Batchata and Merengue.
MLC has added programmer JORGE ALMODOVAR, who is responsible for programming the radio network.
MLC GM JESSE RIOS commented, "This network is incredibly enjoyable to listen to, and in all my years of experience, I believe CALIENTE RADIO NETWORK is the best representation of this format that I’ve seen. We have labored diligently in getting all the right pieces in place, to provide the best product possible. And the beauty of it is, that after all our hard work, it sounds simply amazing, while appearing to be effortless and flawless. We are delighted to have the highly respected program director, JORGE ALMODOVAR, lead the CALIENTE RADIO NETWORK programming team. The Tropical format is an important part of Hispanic radio today, and the unique sound of CALIENTE RADIO NETWORK will attract listeners far and wide. The response of our focus groups has been thrilling, and our internal research leads us to believe that this will prove to be an invaluable addition to the Spanish radio market."
ALMODOVAR added, "I am very excited about joining MLC on this wonderful and exciting venture, and I am pleased to say that our team lives to entertain! A radio station needs to be innovative and our CALIENTE team brings a great deal of excitement to this journey. There is no substitute for passion, and our focus is to create a great radio listening experience. Having a strong and skillful team is important, but also in this business the one thing I’ve learned is that you also need great leaders that are just as excited to work and contribute to the overall effort, and who are natural-born leaders. I have found these characteristics in JESSE RIOS. Since meeting him a few years ago, I have found that JESSE is always moving forward creating opportunities, and he gives us the autonomy, to let us grow and express ourselves while getting in tune with the audiences. He is the kind of leader who lets creativeness flow throughout the organization, and especially on the talent side, with all our teams involved and bringing their very best to the party. I know for certain that CALIENTE is going to be a significant player in the Spanish radio market, because of the talent and dedication of our winning team. With the best Tropical format we could have possibly designed, we are bringing radio to a whole new level. World get ready because CALIENTE is turning up the heat!"
