CC/Bakersfield VP/Market Mgr. Jim Bell To Retire

CLEAR CHANNEL VP/Market Manager JIM BELL will be calling it a career on DEC. 31st after a 35-year career. THE BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIAN reports. A replacement has not yet been named.
"CLEAR CHANNEL has known about this since last year sometime," BELL, 66, told the paper. "The company has been good to me and I wanted this (transition) to happen properly."
After starting in radio in 1977 as a salesperson at KGBS, the first Country FM in LOS ANGELES, BELL would eventually become a GM for stations in BILLINGS, MT.; RENO, NV.; and HOUSTON before coming to BAKERSFIELD more than 10 years ago to head CLEAR CHANNEL's cluster in BAKERSFIELD.
