NPR NEWS has officially named AUDIE CORNISH permanent co-host of "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED" as former host MICHELE NORRIS returns from her leave of absence and is named to a new role as host and special correspondent producing profiles, interviews, and series while guest-hosting other shows. In addition, RACHEL MARTIN has been officially named host of "WEEKEND EDITION SUNDAY." MARTIN and NORRIS have been serving as interim hosts of their shows.
“Taken together, these three represent the journalistic depth and power of NPR NEWS,” said MARGARET LOW SMITH, SVP of NPR NEWS. “We’re incredibly lucky to have such gifted journalists. Each of them has extraordinary range and the ability to connect with audiences in meaningful ways. I’m looking forward to this next chapter for all three.”
Among NORRIS' new focuses will be “The Race Card Project,” her existing initiative that grew from her 2010 family memoir "The Grace of Silence." She will also continue her “Backseat Book Club” on "ALL THINGS CONSIDERED." NORRIS will be back full-time in FEBRUARY.
