Luke Bryan To Co-Host 2013 ACM Awards With Blake Shelton

The ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC (ACM) has released new details about “The Week VEGAS Goes Country.” The week is a culmination of events surrounding the forthcoming 48th ANNUAL ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS, set to take place on SUNDAY, APRIL 7th at 8p (ET).
Broadcast live from the MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA in LAS VEGAS and airing on CBS-TV, WARNER BROS/NASHVILLE artist BLAKE SHELTON will return as this year’s host, with CAPITOL NASHVILLE artist LUKE BRYAN stepping in the co-host position that was vacated by REBA this year.
BRYAN’s addition to the show was revealed in a “TWEET To Unlock” campaign (NET NEWS 1/4) in which fans had to send 25,000 total TWEETS to unlock the name of SHELTON’s co-host.
The days surrounding the AWARDS will include several additional ACM events. On SUNDAY, ARISTA NASHVILLE artist BRAD PAISLEY will host the FAN JAM event leading into the AWARDS show. After the show, he will then host a post-awards concert at the nearby ORLEANS ARENA.
On MONDAY, APRIL 8th, there will also be a special ACM all-star concert television taping in the MGM GRAND GARDEN ARENA. That program will air at alater date on CBS-TV with ticket proceeds benefitting ACM LIFTING LIVES.
The ACM EXPERIENCE will be an additional event held at the ORLEANS HOTEL AND CASINO from APRIL 5th through 7th, and include live Country music performances, interactive games, dance competitions, an ACM EXPO shopping marketplace, and much more. The AMC EXPERIENCE will be free, family-friendly and open to the public.
