PRAIRIE COMMUNICATIONS splits Adult Hits simulcast KMCN (MAC-FM)/CLINTON, IA and KMCS/MUSCATINE, IA and take KMCS in a new direction, playing a deep playlist of Classic Rock as "VINTAGE SOUND 93.1."
On their FACEBOOK page, the station notes, "Broadcasting live from MUSCATINE VINTAGE SOUND 93.1 FM is not afraid to play the B sides! Finally a station you can call your own, thanks for checking us out!"
Station Manager JAMIE HOPKINS tells the QUAD CITY TIMES, "You might hear a GRATEFUL DEAD song or a (FRANK) ZAPPA cut that no one else in the market plays. We want to make it more local. We want to make it more personal, and we also want to focus the music. Instead of playing a mix of rock 'n roll, pop and soul music, we’re adjusting the format to be vintage rock 'n roll."
