HAROLD CAMPING's FAMILY STATIONS INC. is selling Religion KHFR/SANTA MARIA, CA and FM translator K209CE/SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA to CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY for $475,000. The buyer owns noncommercial NPR affiliates KCLU-F/THOUSAND OAKS-VENTURA and KCLU-A--K272DT/SANTA BARBARA.
In other filings with the FCC, BETTER PUBLIC BROADCASTING ASSOCIATION is selling noncommercial KLXG/GOODLAND, KS, KLXO/BEAVER, OK, and KLXD/SPRINGFIELD, CO to CHRISTOPHER and KATHERINE LASH's WHIPLASH COMMUNITY RADIO, INC. for $31,200.
RADIO POWER INC. has taken FM translator W250BN/WEST ALLIS, WI off the air again and has applied for another Silent STA for the station, which was the subject of FCC scrutiny when the licensee tried to move it into the MILWAUKEE antenna farm; it was taken off the air to address interference complaints from a listener of MERLIN Classic Rock WLUP/CHICAGO, and returned to the air this month at reduced power, only to immediately draw more interference complaints.
LIGHT OF LIFE MINISTRIES, INC. has closed on the sale of FM translator W252BT/FREEPORT, ME to BOB BITTNER's BLUE JEY BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. for $100,000.
And KASPAR BROADCASTING CO., INC. has closed on the sale of FM translator W298BB/ZIONSVILLE, IN to EMMIS RADIO LICENSE, LLC for $375,000.
