  Longtime HUBBARD News WTOP/WASHINGTON News Anchor RICHARD DAY has retired from the station, and a memo to staff from VP/News and Programming JIM FARLEY notes that DAY left quietly and "did not want a farewell in the newsroom, a cake or even an announcement before his last day."
  
  DAY joined WTOP in 1985 after stints at NBC in WASHINGTON, WCBM-A/BALTIMORE, and in syndicated television. FARLEY called DAY "a Class Act and I will sorely miss his quiet professionalism."
