As expected, CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT Talk WTAM-A/CLEVELAND will remain the flagship for CLEVELAND INDIANS baseball through 2017 under a five-year contract extension that will also add an FM simulcast on Rock WMMS for most games. All regular season games and 15 Spring training games will air on WTAM and a network of 26 affiliates. The deal was widely rumored to be ready back in OCTOBER (NET NEWS 10/2) but has now been made official.
“The CLEVELAND INDIANS are very excited to continue our 15-year relationship with CLEAR CHANNEL MEDIA + ENTERTAINMENT for the next five years,” said INDIANS Pres. MARK SHAPIRO. “We are always looking to expand the reach of INDIANS baseball and are excited to target a new and potentially younger audience on a regular basis by adding the FM simulcast component.”
“We are thrilled to extend our relationship with the CLEVELAND INDIANS,” said CCM+E CLEVELAND Market Pres. GARY MINCER. “Our partnership with the INDIANS allows fans from all over the region to follow INDIANS baseball. Go TRIBE!”
