The writers of Country group LONESTAR’s "Amazed" received a "BMI Million-Air" award at NASHVILLE’s ETCH restaurant recently.
CHRIS LINDSEY, AIMEE MAYO and MARV GREEN were presented the award by BMI’s CLAY BRADLEY and DAVID PRESTON. The "BMI Million-Air" award is given to songwriters, composers and publishers whose songs accumulate more than one million U.S. broadcast performances. "Amazed" has racked up more than seven million air plays in Country, Top 40 and AC radio, combined.
"‘Amazed’ has achieved a rare status at the top of BMI’s repertoire alongside some of music’s all-time greats, including ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay’ and ‘You’ve Lost that Loving Feeling,’" said BMI Assistant VP of Writer/Publisher Relations, CLAY BRADLEY.
It would take nearly 40 years to listen to "Amazed" seven million times, if those air plays were played back to back.
