Saga/Springfield, IL Ups Jason Addams To OM, Shuffles On-Air Staffs

SAGA COMMUNICATIONS/SPRINGFIELD has promoted WDBR and WABZ Brand Manager JASON ADDAMS to OM of the entire five-station cluster. "I’m very thankful to GM MITCH SMITH and SAGA VP STEVE GOLDSTEIN for their confidence in my leadership,' ADDAMS said. The move coincides with a bevy of other personnel moves at the cluster.
At Top 40 WDBR, 10-year WDBR morning duo DAVE DANIELS and DINA MICHAELS have retired from the business to pursue their passion for the non-profit community. DAVE is the new Program Coordinator for the CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK and ST. JOHN’S CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL in SPRINGFIELD. DINA is now doing marketing and outreach for the GEN H KIDS COALITION, fighting childhood obesity.
Taking over in mornings at WDBR are ADDAMS, who was doing afternoons, and former 'DBR air talent SARAH SMERZ, who left the business to pursue her Master’s Degree in Communications which she completed in MAY of 2011. "JASON and SMERZ" in the morning starts on VALENTINE’S DAY.
Succeeding ADDAMS in afternoons is honorary SPRINGFIELD "Mayor" DJ BLAKE STADEL, who also gets additional stripes as the WDBR MD and cluster Digital and Social Media Dir. Assuming STADEL's night duties is GREG HARVEY, incoming from Top 40 WIZM/LA CROSSE, WI; he will double as cluster Production Dir.
Top 40 WDBR middayer AMY NELSON has been promoted to Brand Manager of Oldies WQQL (COOL 101.9). She will also handle middays on COOL, replacing ED JANIK who will focus on his all-request SATURDAY night show.
At Adult Hits WABZ (ABE-FM), News, Promotions Dir. and cluster weekend talent JEFF HALL has been promoted to ABE-FM MD.
