A FLORIDA unlicensed FM station operator is refusing to pay a fine levied on him by the FCC, the Commission is charging in a lawsuit.
The Commission hit ROBENS CHERIZA with a $20,000 fine for operating an unlicensed station on 107.3 FM in WEST PALM BEACH last APRIL and interfered with air traffic control at PALM BEACH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, but ABC affiliate WPBF-TV/WEST PALM BEACH reports that CHERIZA has been sued by the government for failure to pay the fine.
CHERIZA told the TV station that he told the FCC, "if it was something that was causing a problem, we'll stop it... Ever since I met with them, everything they asked me to do, I did."
The Commission has also issued a Notice of Unlicensed Operation to CRAIG AND LINDA ANDERSON (THE DALLES, OR).
