EVANOV COMMUNICATIONS' DUFFERIN COMMUNICATIONS subsidiary has been granted a license by the CRTC for a new FM station at CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON (about 25 miles east of OTTAWA).
The new station will air an AC format on 92.5 FM with 300 watts at 60 meters above average terrain. The facility is co-channel with COGECO's AC CKBE (92.5 THE BEAT)/MONTREAL, which will create a small interference zone between the stations, although after COGECO initially objected to the new station because it has applied to increase CKBE to Class C2, DUFFERIN submitted a letter from COGECO's engineering consultant saying that it would accept the additional interference.
