DMR/Interactive Creates LinkedIn Group To Reconsider Radio 'Listener'

DMR/INTERACTIVE has created a LINKEDIN group to foster a conversation on the concept on what a radio "listener" really is in today's multi-platform, digital age.
"The word ‘Listeners’ is one-dimensional and limiting," DMR/INTERACTIVE COO ANDREW CURRAN said. "Today, members of the audience are doing a lot more than listening to the radio. They are commenting on it, promoting it, creating it, sharing it, evaluating it, and talking about it. Radio has an opportunity to embrace this unique and dynamic reality and transform itself to the advertising community along the way.
"Words matter, especially in the radio business," he continued. "So each time we say the word ‘Listeners,’ we are reinforcing old concepts that are no longer sufficient. Today’s audience has an interactive and dynamic relationship with their favorite stations."
