COX MEDIA GROUP/SAN ANTONIO has named programming veteran JEFF GARRISON as OM for the entire cluster, and he will also become PD for Country KCYY (Y100). In addition to Y100, the cluster includes AC KSMG, Classic Hits KONO, Rock KISS, Classic Rock KTKX and Classic Country KKYX-A. GARRISON will start his new chapter with COX on MONDAY, APRIL 1st.
GARRISON has most recently been serving as OM/PD at CBS RADIO Country KMLE/PHOENIX and is also VP/Country Artist Relations for CBS.
"I’m thrilled to have someone of JEFF’s caliber on our SAN ANTONIO team," said CMG San Antonio VP and Market Manager, DAN LAWRIE. "JEFF will have a positive impact and take our already strong brands to the next level."
"JEFF and I worked together in one of the biggest monster country battles in the early 2000s where KMLE took out legendary KNIX with an all-star lineup," said CMG’s Director of Programming, STEVE SMITH. "It's so great to be reunited with JEFF again and I’m confident we’ll have the same success in SAN ANTONIO."
In his new role with COX, GARRISON replaces former KCYY PD RANDY CHASE, who exited on FEBRUARY 19th (NET NEWS 2/19).
Meanwhile back at KMLE, VP/Country Programming JEFF KAPUGI tells ALL ACCESS that he and CBS PHOENIX Market Manager TIM POHLMAN are heading up the search for GARRISON’S replacement. Interested candidates should email info to KAPUGI at jeff@cbsradio.com.
