REPUBLIC RECORDS recording artist and YOUNG MONEY CEO LIL WAYNE is back in the hospital after suffering multiple seizures, TMZ reports. He previously went through a seizure episode on TUESDAY, was taken to taken to CEDARS-SINAI HOSPITAL, treated and released (NET NEWS 3/14). However, there are now conflicting reports on WAYNE's current condition. TMZ reports that this latest episode has left him in an "unstable" condition; he is currently in ICU in an induced coma, where he is breathing through tubes. The L.A. TIMES and other media quote other sources who insist that WAYNE is "recovering."
Sources first told TMZ that WAYNE was shaking uncontrollably in the ICU as several people watched at his bedside, while a number of rap artists and family members were on the way to the hospital. WAYNE's mother is currently on a plane flying to LOS ANGELES -- and sources said "all major decisions about WAYNE's health (including the decision to discontinue life support) will not be made until she arrives."
Sources later told TMZ that WAYNE remained in critical condition in the ICU, but had stabilized. The prognosis is still uncertain. Strangely, WAYNE just tweeted saying he's OK and thanking people for the prayers and love.
Accorrding to the L.A. TIMES, members of WAYNE's label refuted the reports with a few tweets, and promised to release "an official statement shortly but dont [sic] believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe." YOUNG MONEY Pres. MACK MAINE tweeted that WAYNE was "alive and well" and bashed TMZ for its reports -- but later removed a handful of tweets, and didn't comment further.
What brought the latest seizures on? According to TMZ's sources, "WAYNE went on a Sizzurp binge after being released WEDNESDAY, because doctors found high amounts of codeine in his system ... [his] stomach was pumped three times to flush the drugs from his system."
