THE SUPREME COURT refused to hear the appeal of JAMMIE THOMAS-RASSET, who was hit with a $220,000 fine after being found guilty of sharing 24 songs on the peer-to-peer service KAZAA, WIRED reports.
Even so, THOMAS-RASSET claims that she doesn't have the money to pay.
"As I’ve said from the beginning, I do not have now, nor do I anticipate in the future, having $220,000 to pay this," she said in an e-mail. "If they do decide to try and collect, I will file for bankruptcy as I have no other option."
She considered the SUPREME COURT decision: "It is what it is."
