While he sits out his noncompete after his departure from CUMULUS Sports WJOX/BIRMINGHAM, PAUL FINEBAUM will be writing a book about his radio show for HARPERCOLLINS, reports the BIRMINGHAM NEWS/AL.COM's BOB CARLTON. ESPN's GENE WOJCIECHOWSKI will co-write the book with FINEBAUM.
"Primarily, it's about the culture of the show and how the culture of the show interacts with the SEC," FINEBAUM, who reportedly got a $500,000 advance, told CARLTON. "But it does quickly go through my career and how we got to this point."
"No one speaks to SEC Nation -- and ALABAMA fans in particular -- with more passion, knowledge and humor than PAUL FINEBAUM," HARPERCOLLINS SVP/Exec. Editor DAVID HIRSHEY told CARLTON in an e-mail. "We expect this book to occupy the same spot on the best-seller list that ALABAMA occupies in the BCS rankings -- #1."
