TOWSON UNIVERSITY Triple A WTMD/BALTIMORE is exploring how artists can go from writing their first songs to quitting their day-jobs in its new "Starving Artists" series running weekly during the WTMD Morning Show
Each episode will delve into legal, financial and marking issues that are part of becoming a working musician or artist.
The first report is on how the MARYLAND VOLUNTEER LAWYERS FOR THE ARTS help sort out the legal issues surrounding copyright issues and even advise bands on how to construct an agreement between themselves about who owns the band's intellectual property.
In the coming weeks, the series be exploring the financial implications of being a band and why being a bit of an accountant is just as important as playing a well tuned guitar. The series will also take a look at the best day-jobs for BALTIMORE musicians who are out on the road touring, but still need to pay the rent and get health insurance.
