BENZTOWN RADIO NETWORKS will join forces with JIM BRICKMAN’s BRICKHOUSE PRODUCTIONS to produce the nationally syndicated radio show Your Weekend With JIM BRICKMAN and bring it to additional markets across the U.S. and CANADA through a new production, sales and marketing partnership. The show’s inventory will continue to be cleared by CUMULUS MEDIA NETWORKS. It now airs in over 85 markets including MILWAUKEE, CINCINNATI, HONOLULU, HARTFORD and SALT LAKE CITY.
"We are beyond thrilled to work with JIM BRICKMAN, one of the most loved and respected personalities and artists in AC Radio and a media and entertainment powerhouse," BENZTOWN Pres. DAVE "CHACHI" DENES said: "Jim has developed and grown Your Weekend through brilliant grassroots marketing and a highly engaging, music-centric show that helps people live their best lives and make the most of the best part of their lives-- the weekend. With BRICKMAN’s year-round touring schedule, an annual fan cruise, and 'BRICKMAN Bash' -- a fan weekend with BRICKMAN touring FRANKLIN and NASHVILLE, TN -- he stays close to his audiences, and becomes part of his stations’ on-air staff and public image. His tour schedule and related advertising offer attractive revenue opportunities for his affiliate stations. We are excited to further develop Your Weekend and bring it to markets beyond the 90 that currently enjoy the show."
"I love radio and I love doing this show," bRICKMAN said. "It’s a way to communicate my curiosity about the world we live in and we just have a lot of fun. I can be myself with our listeners, and I think they relate to that. I don’t become a radio personality when the mic goes on. I treat the listener like we’re having a conversation one on one. I have been accused of being irreverent, but I really enjoy asking the questions that I think people want to hear the answers to, and I am pretty direct about that. I think I say what they’re probably thinking, so people feel like they are in the room with me; like they know me after we do a show. You can’t make a connection like that anywhere but radio, and it’s a powerful thing. It’s the best feeling to keep that relationship going and growing today, 16 years after we started this conversation with our listeners."
