Radio/TV Complaints Up For Q4 At FCC

The FCC has issued its fourth quarter 2012 report of public complaints and inquiries, showing overall inquiries up almost 1% from the previous quarter, led by billing and rates issues, while complaints were up 4% from third quarter, highlighted by a 104% rise in radio and television broadcasting complaints and a 67% jump in cable and satellite complaints regarding programming issues.
The total number of radio and TV broadcasting inquiries was 2,271, with 1,025 of those regarding programming. 5,544 complaints about radio and TV broadcasting were received, but only 298 were about indecency; the vast majority, 3,717, fell into the category of "general criticism."
