TIMES AND NEWS PUBLISHING Country WGTY/YORK recently held a "TWICE AS NICE" contest where the station gave $4,000 to charity through listener participation. During the contest, 90 listeners won an instant $200 and then played a trivia game to win $100 for a charity of their choice.
“Everyone wants to give to their favorite charity, but they might not be able to do so. This contest was a unique and fun way of letting them do that. Oftentimes, a listener would even give their instant prize to the charity. The experience was fun, engaging and heartwarming,” said WGTY Promotion Coordinator RICK KENNIS.
Several local organizations benefitted, as well as national names like MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION, AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY, and SALVATION ARMY.
