Jacobs Media's Techsurvey9 Looks At News-Talk
May 21, 2013 at 1:57 PM (PT)
JACOBS MEDIA released its Techsurvey9 findings for News-Talk radio TODAY (5/21), with the annual large survey of radio listeners showing that News-Talk partisans are more likely than listeners to other formats to start their day with broadcast radio (54%). The survey also found that listeners to the format are less likely to be heavy radio listeners; fans of the format are less likely to cite emotional reasons for listening and more likely to focus on information.
News-Talk audiences are among the most likely to own tablets (over 1 in 4); and while three-fourths of the formats listeners have a social media profile, e-mail is the strongest method to build strong relationships with them. Regarding social media, LINKEDIN is a strong second to FACEBOOK among the format's partisans.
JACOBS MEDIA Pres. FRED JACOBS said, “News-Talk fans are especially likely to start their day with radio, but from there, it’s tablets, satellite radio, on demand, and a host of other information sources.”
More webinars about the survey are scheduled for MAY 29th (Sports Radio). JUNE 4th (Rock/Classic Rock/Alternative/Triple A), and JUNE 10th (AC/Top 40/Hot AC). Register by clicking here.
